II World Summit for Quality in Government in the City of Armenia, Colombia

September 25-27, 2013

The II World Summit for Quality in Government, organized by the World Council for Quality in collaboration with the International Foundation for the Development of Trustworthy Governments, was held on September 25-27, 2013 in the picturesque city of Armenia, Quindío. The event brought together an outstanding participation of 1,200 attendees and featured the contribution of 62 national and international speakers. Delegations from 30 countries, including the United States, Mexico, Brazil, China, Japan, Spain, Holland, Australia, Botswana and Egypt, among others, gathered at the Metropolitan Convention Center of the host city. The main objective of this international meeting was to present the progress of the ISO 18091 quality standard project, with emphasis on institutional development for effective governance, sustainable economy and sustainable environment. These issues were addressed in nine thematic roundtables focused on key areas such as health, education, infrastructure, social responsibility, security and defense, environmental management and local governments.
